THE NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD

• A biometric National Identity Card is issued to Algerian citizens permanently residing abroad after finalizing their consular registration.
• Any applicant, regardless of his age, can apply for a National ID Card online https://passeport.interieur.gov.dz/fr/DemandeCNIBE_Fr/Demande. after obtaining his biometric passport.
• Children under 12 who wish to apply for a National ID Card at the Consulate General are exempt from the fingerprinting procedure. Consequently, their presence at the filling of the application and the collection of the ID is not required.
• Applicants 12 and over who wish to apply for a National ID Card at the Consulate General, must be present for the fingerprinting procedure without a prior appointment.

Renewal of the Biometric National Identity Card:

Required documents (original + copy):

• Valid consular registration card of the applicant's ;
• ID renewal form duly completed and signed .
• Two (02) recent standard photos 
•  12-S Birth Certificate 
•  Expired ID

The withdrawal of the new ID card is made at the Consulate General upon presentation of a valid identity document.

The issue of the new document is subject to the return of the old Algerian identity card, whether valid or expired.
